Baking is a passion

Bite Me Bakery was conceived and became an idea when Gwendy met her life partner, John. As a regular at a restaurant for a long time, and John, as the new manager who worked nights. During Christmas one year, Gwendy made cookies and treats for her kids and family members out of state. She made some for the staff there as well. Asking about allergies, one of the servers, a friend, told Gwendy that their new manager, John, had Celiac disease. Accepting the challenge, Gwendy went home, did some research, and went to work converting recipes that she had been using forever to gluten-free recipes. Gwendy had no experience in gluten-free baking as it wasn’t covered in culinary school. Gwendy baked them, John loved them, and was so excited that he was smiling from ear to ear. John shared that he hadn’t had homemade baked goods for over ten years, which was when he was diagnosed, and that they were delicious. His joy was contagious, and a seed was planted. Gwendy has spent the last six years working and developing, and perfecting gluten-free treats that are delicious.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create an inclusive environment where all are welcome and persons with gluten and wheat allergies can enjoy a treat with joy and zero stress.

Our Values

Bite Me Bakery is an inclusive environment where all are welcome.  We use ingredients that consider the impact on people, the planet, and our environment. We work hard to trace all ingredient supply chains and bring in only the best of everything that we use.  Reduce, recycle, and reuse are important here.  We understand that without change, there will be no more vanilla or chocolate lattes or treats in the near future.
